Time to Toot Our Own Horn on our Organic Body Care Line

Yep, we said it. TOOT! TOOT! TOOT! We are awesome.

Our company.

Our philosophy.

Our products.

The reason why we do the things we do are all because we are incredible and have a deep-seated passion for purity and goodness in our products.  All for you.

You may be saying to yourself, “Well, that sales tactic is a bit strange!”  “That’s just not NORMAL!”

First, we never said we were normal.

Second, we’re glad we’re not normal because if we were normal we’d be like the vast majority of companies out there who are putting a collection of ingredients in a bottle that, in the end, share the same name but are far from the same product.

“You have completely lost me now!”

Sit down, put your feet up, relax and let’s explain with this example:

Indigo Blooms Botanicals makes a product called lotion. The ‘Big Corporate Guys’ (BCG) make a product called lotion.

The ingredients in Indigo Blooms Botanicals’ lotion do not include chemicals or carcinogens like Diethylalomine (DEA) or monoethanolamine (MEA) or triethanolamine (TEA), which are very common in BCG’s lotions.

“I don’t believe you and I think you’re just creating havoc and conspiracy!”  “It can’t be that common!”  “No company would put cancer causing agents in something I am spreading all over my entire body…they’d get sued, right?!”  “You’re just trying to scare us so we buy your products, we’re onto you!”

Have a look…

Here are the ingredients of a lotion that’s found in almost every store in America; one that almost every American has used at some point, if not regularly, along with a description of what half of the ingredients really are:

danger ahead

WATER, GLYCERIN,  STEARIC ACID, PETROLATUM (main ingredient in gasoline, kerosene, and diesel oil), ISOPROPHYL PALMITATE (alcohol and palm oil), AVENA SATIVA (OAT) STRAW EXTRACT, DIHYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE (a chemical created by Dow Chemical used for hydrating), HYDROXYETHYL UREA (a synthetic, made from ammonia and carbon dioxide), ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER (a polyacrylic acid), DIMETHICONE (suspected to be an environmental toxin and be persistent or bioaccumulative), GLYCERYL STEARATE, CETYL ALCOHOL, LACTIC ACID, FRAGRANCE, MAGNESIUM ALUMINUM SILICATE, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE (a toxic and highly corrosive chemical used to make soap, in bleaching, and as a paint remover), PROPYLENE GLYCOL, ETHYLPARABEN (Parabens mimic estrogen and can act as potential hormone, endocrine system disruptors), PROPYLPARABEN (Parabens mimic estrogen and can act as potential hormone, endocrine system disruptors), DISODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL (preservative used in cosmetics that has high potential as a skin irritant), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (classified as expected to be toxic or harmful and is classified as a moderate carcinogen).

So, as you can see, out of 22 ingredients, 11 are more than a little disconcerting.

Here are the ingredients in Indigo Blooms Botanicals’ lotion, Lavender Flower Organic Hand & Body Cream:

Lavender Flower Organic Hand & Body Cream

safe & lovely

ORGANIC ROSEWATER (Rosa damascena), DISTILLED WATER, ORGANIC JOJOBA OIL, ORGANIC ALMOND OIL, ORGANIC COCONUT OIL, BEESWAX, VITAMIN E, BORAX (natural desert salt), ORGANIC LAVENDER (Lavandula angustifolia) ESSENTIAL OIL, GREPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT

…and that’s why we toot our own horn.

We work hard to make sure the products you put on your body are pure and healthful, not chemically based and harmful. Why? Because we really do believe in the goodness of organic ingredients and top quality botanicals. Why do we go to so much trouble when the BCGs are cornering the market and most people don’t even seem to care? Because WE care and we want to be the exception to the rule. All for you.

Botanically yours,

IBB
